"Though I've been through the fire, I'm still here-stronger, wiser, and walking in my purpose.

Tonya I Dixon

Author & Storyteller

Tonya L. Dixon is an author, poet, and advocate whose life is a testament to resilience. Facing severe health crises—including meningitis, pneumonia, and seizures—before the age of three, Tonya’s journey was shaped early on by physical challenges. Navigating life with a visual impairment and enduring a childhood marked by a lack of emotional encouragement and ongoing battles with depression, she turned to poetry as a young girl to find her voice and heal.

In her debut memoir, My Life’s Journey, Tonya opens her heart to break the silence surrounding family rejection, mental health struggles, and the quiet pain of feeling underestimated. Beyond her personal survival, she is a devoted mother who has found immense strength in faith and in becoming a fierce advocate for her special-needs daughter. Today, Tonya writes to remind anyone who has ever felt broken or overlooked that they are not alone, and that every difficult chapter is still part of a journey worth continuing.
